Peter Spanos
Peter Spanos is CEO and Founder of Vetta Sports which owns and operates ten indoor sports facilities in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area.
With soccer and racquet sports as its base, Vetta Sports has extensive experience in managing multiple locations and multiple sports including programming at several outdoor sites.
Pete is a former Division I soccer player and earned his MBA prior to founding Vetta Sports. Driven by his passion to teach life skills through sports, instruction became the building block in the early years of Vetta. Adult leagues, youth leagues, summer day camps, instructional programs, concessions and events round out the core offerings.
Vetta Sports, named after Pete and John Spanos’ grandmother, has a long-term committed executive team with 800 FTE’s and 3 million visits per year. The team has managed diverse sports such as soccer, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, basketball, inline hockey, fitness centers and now a current emphasis on pickleball.
Entrepreneurship consulting Mr. Spanos spends his time in executive management development, acquisitions, helping entrepreneurs enhance skill sets, and not-for-profit management executive support.
Pete was the lead management instructor for the US Indoor Sports Arena Operator’s Certification for 10 years. In 2025, Pete was one of the first six inductees into the U.S. Indoor Sports Association Hall of Fame.
Stadia Ventures Sports Fund past investment selection committee. Stadia Ventures is a global sports innovation hub for connecting start-up entrepreneurs, industry partners, and investors pre series A with proven growing revenue streams.
Pickleball has become a personal passion for Pete as he competes nationally in pickleball tournaments. The resulting effect is that Vetta now offers pickleball on 40+ pickleball courts at its racquet clubs plus is the instructional partner for a number of municipalities. Vetta has an instructional staff that teaches over 300 players per week. Pete owns and plays on a 60+ professional team, the St. Louis Archers.
America Scores St. Louis founding Board Chairman of the local not-for-profit urban soccer and writing after school program. Over 5,000 children have participated in the program.
RBC Regional Business Council’s Social Venture Partnership Pete is active in providing personal mentorship to not-for-profit executive directors, plus offering Vetta’s management experience as a resource.
St. Nicholas Church Past Co-Chairman of Growth, Development and Construction. The successful parish voting strategy promoted both construction of a $8.5M St. Louis County Family Life Center plus a major renovation of the St. Louis City church sanctuary.
St. Louis County Regional Soccer Complex was a newly constructed outdoor 13 field synthetic turf field complex. Vetta successfully attracted tens of millions of dollars in annual economic activity for the St. Louis region and managed the first four years of start-up operations. Over 1 million annual visitors now patronize the complex.
